The Ultimate Lake Havasu Parasailing Guide

Everything you need to know about parasailing at Lake Havasu, from what to expect to booking tips and the best photo opportunities.

Why Lake Havasu is Perfect for Parasailing

Lake Havasu is one of the most spectacular parasailing destinations in the American Southwest. With over 60 miles of navigable waterways, 400 miles of pristine shoreline, and crystal-clear blue waters surrounded by dramatic desert mountains, Lake Havasu offers the perfect setting for an unforgettable parasailing adventure.

The lake's calm freshwater environment ensures smooth takeoffs and landings, making it ideal for first-time parasailers and experienced flyers alike. The weather in Lake Havasu City is consistently excellent during our fall operating season, with minimal wind, clear skies, and comfortable temperatures creating optimal flying conditions.

What to Expect from Your Parasailing Experience

Your parasailing adventure at Lake Havasu begins the moment you arrive at Site Six Launch Ramp on Beachcomber Blvd. Here's what a typical experience looks like:

Check-In and Safety Briefing

Arrive a few minutes before your scheduled time and look for our boat "Cloud Dancer" at the launch ramp. Our experienced crew will greet you and conduct a comprehensive safety briefing. You'll be fitted with a Coast Guard approved life jacket and we'll explain exactly what to expect during your flight. Don't worry if you're nervous – our crew has completed over 15,000 successful flights and knows how to make everyone feel comfortable!

The Boat Ride

Once everyone is aboard (we accommodate up to 6 passengers per trip), we'll cruise out to the perfect parasailing location on Lake Havasu. This short boat ride gives you time to take in the stunning scenery, ask any last-minute questions, and watch as we prepare the parasail equipment. You might even meet Leroy, our Chief of Dock Security!

Taking Flight

When it's your turn to fly, you'll be harnessed into the parasail while seated on the boat deck. The takeoff is incredibly smooth – you'll gently lift off from the deck and ascend up to 500 feet above the water. There's no running, jumping, or getting wet (unless you request a "dip" at the end!). The entire process is controlled and gradual.

Soaring Above Lake Havasu

At 500 feet altitude, you'll experience breathtaking 360-degree views of Lake Havasu City, the surrounding desert mountains, the famous London Bridge, and the sparkling blue waters below. Your flight time in the air is typically 10-15 minutes – plenty of time to take in the incredible views, snap photos, and experience the peaceful sensation of floating high above the lake. Many nervous flyers tell us it's surprisingly calm and peaceful up there!

Landing

The landing is just as smooth as the takeoff. You'll gently descend back to the boat deck for a dry landing. If you want to get wet, just let the crew know and they'll give you a fun "dip" in the lake before bringing you back to the boat!

Best Photo Opportunities

Lake Havasu offers incredible photo opportunities from 500 feet up. Here are the best spots and angles to capture:

  • London Bridge Views: The iconic London Bridge looks spectacular from above, especially with the Bridgewater Channel and surrounding development visible.
  • Desert Mountain Backdrop: The Mohave Mountains create a dramatic backdrop, especially during golden hour.
  • 360-Degree Panoramas: Our GoPro 360° package captures immersive footage with the "invisible selfie stick" effect.
  • Boat Perspective: Our HD photo package includes shots from the boat showing you soaring above the water.
  • Sunset Flights: Weekend evening flights offer stunning sunset colors over the desert landscape.

We highly recommend our Combo Package ($75) which includes both GoPro 360° video and HD photos – you'll save $15 and have complete coverage of your adventure!

Booking Tips and Recommendations

To ensure you have the best possible parasailing experience at Lake Havasu, follow these insider tips:

Book Early

Weekends and holidays fill up fast during our peak season (October-November). We recommend booking 1-2 weeks in advance for weekend slots. Weekday afternoons typically have better availability for last-minute bookings.

Choose Your Time Wisely

Morning flights (weekends 10 AM - 12 PM) offer calmer winds and cooler temperatures. Afternoon flights provide warmer weather and often spectacular lighting for photos. Evening weekend flights can feature beautiful sunset views.

Consider Group Dynamics

We can fly singles, doubles, or triples. If you have a larger group (up to 6 people), everyone rides on the boat together and takes turns flying. For groups larger than 6, book multiple consecutive time slots so everyone can experience it together.

Add the Media Packages

You'll want to remember this experience! Our professional media packages capture angles and perspectives you simply can't get with a phone from the boat. The Combo Package is our most popular option and provides the best value.

Check the Weather

While we monitor weather conditions constantly and will contact you if conditions are unsafe, you can help by checking the forecast before your trip. We operate in a wide range of conditions, but high winds or storms will result in rescheduling for your safety.

What to Bring and Wear

Preparing properly will ensure maximum comfort and enjoyment:

Clothing

  • Bathing suit or comfortable athletic clothes
  • Light layers (it can be cooler on the water)
  • Secure footwear with straps or go barefoot
  • Hat with strap (optional but recommended for sun protection)

Accessories

  • Sunscreen (apply before arrival)
  • Sunglasses with retention strap
  • Towel (if you plan to request a dip)
  • Water bottle to stay hydrated

What to Leave Behind

  • Loose items that could fall (phones, keys, wallets)
  • Glass containers (not allowed on the boat)
  • Expensive jewelry
  • Unsecured cameras (get our photo packages instead!)

Seasonal Considerations

Lake Havasu parasailing is a seasonal activity. We operate during two prime seasons:

Fall Season (October 3 - November 30, 2026)

The Fall offers excellent parasailing conditions with comfortable temperatures and a relaxed, intimate experience. The weather is beautiful, and you'll often have spectacular views.

Why We Don't Operate Year-Round

Summer temperatures in Lake Havasu can exceed 110°F, making it uncomfortable for extended time on the water. Winter months can bring unpredictable winds and cooler temperatures that aren't ideal for parasailing. Our seasonal schedule ensures you always have the best possible experience.

Making the Most of Your Lake Havasu Visit

While parasailing is the highlight of any Lake Havasu trip, consider combining it with other activities:

  • London Bridge: Walk across this famous relocated bridge and explore the English Village.
  • Lake Havasu State Park: Beautiful beaches and hiking trails with desert views.
  • Water Sports: Jet skiing, kayaking, and paddleboarding are popular on the lake.
  • Lighthouses: Lake Havasu has multiple decorative lighthouses to photograph.
  • Dining: Waterfront restaurants offer fresh seafood and stunning sunset views.
